How to make compost with own hands

Each person heard such word ""compost"", but not everyone knows, what is it and as it to make at the dacha with own hands.

Composts – perfectly decayed organic fertilizer from waste of animal and plant origin with addition of the earth or peat.

Composts are earth, torfonavozny, assembly and others. In combined composts use all waste from our personal plot: weeds, potato tops of vegetable, sawdust, food waste, garbage of plant origin, prudovy silt and others.

Correctly to prepare compost, it is necessary to pick up the place competently. It is desirable not to use site on which rain water stands. For this purpose small trenches in which compost will not dry up are ideal, and to be humidified evenly.

It is better to dig out trench about 1.5 meters wide, up to 1 m in depth, and length for everyone it is individual, depending on your need for this fertilizer. On the bottom the layer of the earth or peat of 30-35 cm keeps within. Then the punched material goes the following layer: waste and so on. Then again layer of the earth or peat and so on. All layers need to be moistened with dung water or plain water – it will reduce date of receipt of quality compost.

If large amount of sawdust and straw keeps within it, then it is necessary to add nitrogen fertilizers, for example ammonium sulfate. Also phosphoric fertilizers improve quality of compost. Once a month it is better to mix compost – it promotes fast pereprevaniye of organic fertilizer and too reduces composting term. This organic fertilizer can be prepared for 1-1.5 years, depending on the punched material. Compost can be applied when its contents turn into homogeneous friable earthy mass.

Ideal time of use of such combined earth compost is the spring period, and here it is better to introduce organic fertilizer on the basis of peat in the fall.

Also for compost it is possible to use at the dacha small nailed together wooden boxes, metal barrels or some unnecessary tanks from 1 CBM.
