- glass fiber mat, fiber glass fabric, hardener, polyester resin, catalyst, matrix gelkoat, wax.
Instruction
1. Model. It is possible to do without it, but you will surely lose in quality. Use instead of the strut model on which then you put fiber glass fabric. You can make the model of such materials – polyfoam, plasticine, plywood, etc. The model surely has to be smooth and in accuracy to repeat part necessary to you.
2. Make matrix. According to technology, you need to cover completely the model with layer of wax and to polish it. After that you apply on its surface matrix gelkoat. It is more dense, it is necessary to put with thin layer, so he lays down much easier, than ordinary. The received basis from the gelkoat gives the chance to achieve ideal surface of matrix. You put it manually with the special spray or brush. Gelkoat helps to create outer surface of product from fibreglass.
3. Make fibreglass. From the very beginning lay the cut-out glass material in the made matrix: glass fiber mat, fiber glass fabric or other type of filler. Choose it, proceeding from requirements which are imposed to future product from fibreglass. After that, using brush or the soft roller, impregnate fiber glass fabric or glass fiber mat with binding mix – hardener or polyester resin. Generally, fibreglass is special composite material which consists of hardener, polyester resin, glass fiber mat or fiber glass fabric.
4. Rolling. It is the last stage. Prikatayte laminate (not hardened fibreglass) the rigid roller. The purpose – needs to be removed completely from it air bubbles. After curing take finished product from form. Subject it to special machining: cut off bark – the cured polyester resin or surplus of fibreglass at the edges of product. If it is necessary, drill openings.
