Transformation of wood to coal is carried out by means of process of pyrolysis which is meant as disintegration of organic compounds as a result of their destruction under the influence of high temperature. Decomposition of wood is made in the gas oxygen-free environment, in retort. In the course of pyrolysis, parogaza which are removed through branch pipe are allocated. After that in the device there is separation of gas from liquid. Today there is huge number of the devices intended for thermal decomposition of wood. Instruction
1. Before starting assembly of such equipment, each master makes the detailed scheme of future furnace. At independent production of the unit it is the best of all to take already the ready scheme.
2. The perimeter of the pyrolysis furnace gives all the best from ceramic brick on which there should not be cracks and chips. The laying of internal partitions is carried out with use of shamotny brick. Clay and clean sand is applied to preparation of binding solution.
3. Toplivnik can be laid out from ceramic and shamotny brick. It is more preferable to use shamotny brick as it maintains better big temperatures which not to avoid when burning fuel.
4. Toplivnik is separated into two sections: loading and section for combustion of the gases emitted during pyrolysis process. For the best combustion of volatiles in this section the secondary air moves, at the same time passing of primary happens from top to down.
5. Grid pig-iron irons are established in toplivnik. At the same time it is necessary to do small gaps as when heating grid extend. Furnace doors are fixed by means of special "ears". For their production it is possible to use wire or sheet steel.
6. After that it is necessary to establish the doors intended for adjustment of air supply and cleaning of the furnace of ashes. At the same stage oven latches by means of which in the oven the draft is regulated are mounted. Because the design of fire chamber has big aerodynamic resistance, it is required to install the fan used for supply with compulsory draft.
7. The furnace for wood charcoal has such advantages as opportunity to utilize waste of the wood industry, lack of emissions of hazardous substances in the environment, simplicity in service and operation, reliability and durability. At such quantity of pluses there is one shortcoming which should be noted. It consists in need of careful thermal insulation of pipe as at low temperature condensate in pipe can freeze, and it will lead to reduction of its section.
