How to replace the daylight lamp

How to replace the daylight lamp

Daylight lamps are known decades. In spite of the fact that there were already their more compact fellows, traditional fluorescent lamps are still actively used. In case light suddenly dies away, it is necessary to find failure cause and, if necessary, to replace lamp.

1. Before work make sure that the lamp is powered off. Remove transparent decorative cover, then take lamp from the cartridges holding it. It is possible to make it in two ways, depending on the used cartridges. In the first case it is necessary to turn lamp a little around axis, its contacts will go out of terminals, and the lamp will appear at you in hands. In the second case it is necessary to press lamp along axis against the stop to the right or to the left. The sprung cartridge will allow it to move a little, at the same time contacts of lamp on the other hand will come out the boss.

2. You do not hurry to throw out the gone-out lamp, it can be still operable. Check tester both threads of incandescence of lamp for break. At faulty lamp one thread usually whole (its resistance about 10 Ohms), the second burned down. If both threads whole, most likely, are failure cause the starter – the small round aluminum "glass" inserted into special cartridge. Return lamp into place and replace the starter obviously serviceable, then give power supply. If the lamp has lit up, fault is found and eliminated.

3. In case the lamp all the same does not burn, then the throttle, the condenser or electronic control unit can be faulty. The faulty throttle should be replaced, it is not subject to repair (though radio fans sometimes rewind the burned-down throttles). The electronic control unit can try to be repaired, having checked tester of its part.

4. If the removed lamp is intact, but has darkened near socles, it demonstrates proximity of the termination of its life cycle. In case the daylight lamp blinks, it should be replaced as it has developed the resource.
