Violets as though are specially created to exist under artificial lighting and in artificial climate. Care for them is simple, and all rumors about their whims - false. If you look after violets correctly, they please you with abundant blossoming, delicate aroma and magnificent greens of fluffy leaflets.

It is required to you

  • Clay pot
  • Pebble, haydite.
  • Warm water for watering.
  • Warm and damp atmosphere.
  • Special soil or soil, sphagnum, perlite.

Instruction

1. If you have bought plant in shop, then, first of all, you will need to replace it from plastic container in clay pot. Accurately tapping on walls, separate roots with the earth from initial container. The container needs to be removed with extra care, trying not to damage flower.

2. Check roots for availability of damages. They should not be soft and brown are signs of rotting because of excessive watering and bad drainage. Remove the excess soil and the died-off flowers and leaves.

3. Prepare the earth for change. You can buy special soil for violets or to mix the soil, sphagnum and perlite in equal proportions. If there is such opportunity, then it is better to check rn soil. It has to be ranging from 6 up to 6.5. If rn below, add lime. If above – sulfur.

4. Fill soil on bottom of pot and place flower. Pay attention to that its lower leaves were several centimeters higher than edge of pot.

5. Water flowers of room temperature. If water too cold, leaves korichnevet and fall below. If in it there is too much chlorine, on leaves whitish spots – burns will appear. When watering wait until water through drainage hole filters into saucer and merge surplus. Violets love humidity, but their roots will decay from excess of water. Good compromise – to place pot with flowers on pebble to which and to add a little water.

6. The African violets do not take out overcooling. Remove flowers from the room during airing in cold season. You keep them on solar windowsills or under artificial lighting, but surely make sure that they spend not less than eight hours in the dark daily.
