1. Begin to dig out plants if two thirds of leaf have already turned yellow, and the covering scales of bulbs have turned yellow. By this time the stalk becomes soft and is easily rumpled in hands. Usually time outplantingsof tulips is necessary for the end of June beginning of July.
2. You store the dug-out bulbs at temperature of 23-25 degrees in well aired room where the sun does not get. It is possible to store the dug-out bulbs and in the open air, but only in that place where direct sunshine do not get. They cause burns on bulbs. It is necessary to consider air humidity, it has to be not less than 70%.
3. When bulbs dry up, clean them from old roots, the earth, residues of scales. Then sort on grade, the size. After sorting you store bulbs in well aired room without drafts and direct sunshine. You watch air humidity.
4. Plant tulips in the fall when soil temperature at depth of 10 cm falls up to +9-10 degrees. Depending on climate it can be both the end of September and the beginning of November. Bulbs need to be planted in the paved way. And for this purpose find the site which on spring does not fill in with water. If there is no that, then raise bed, having added the earth. Fertilize the prepared place: bring the chopped mowed grass, add ashes (especially if the soil sour), lay humus layer. Make on bed of groove or pole on depth of double height of bulb, fill up with the soil. If winters cold, cover with dry grass.
