The one who at least once happened to stack slate will not experience big difficulties when laying ondulin. It will seem to it even easier, than slate laying as the weight of leaf of ondulin is only 6 kg. However work with this popular roofing material has the features.
It is required to you
- - ondulin (euroslate);
- - wooden rails;
- - material for the obreshet (eaves board, the oriented chip plate and so forth);
- - carpenter's tool (hammer, saw, axe and so forth);
- - nails for fastening of ondulin.
Instruction
1. Before laying of ondulin heater (if necessary) and waterproofing has to be laid on roof (surely). If the roof is warmed, beat over waterproofing to counterrail rafters to which will fasten further obresht. They are necessary for providing ventilating gap between onduliny and heater.
2. Define roof bias. For this purpose measure roof height in the fad and length of its horizontal projection. Write down these values in form 1: H. Naprimer, if roof height in the fad is 3 m, and length of projection of slope – 12 m, the bias will be equal to 1:4.
3. Beat obresht under ondulin. The distance between boards of the obreshet will depend on the bias defined in the previous step: - at bias from 1:11 to 1:6 obresht has to be continuous; - at bias from 1:6 to 1:4 obresht can have gaps – 450 mm between axes of boards; - at bias from 1:4 and more than a distance between axes of boards has to be 600 mm. Boards of the obreshet have to be parallel to the lower edge of slope. Make to yourself template which will help to provide this condition.
4. Begin laying of the 1st row with roof bottom – from outside, opposite to the primary direction of winds (that wind did not blow under edges of sheets). The bottom edge of ondulin has to act in relation to eaves board on such distance that water from roof could flow down approximately in the center of eaves trench, however no more than on 70 mm. Depending on bias of roof provide the following overlapping of sheets of ondulin: - at bias 1:11-1:6 end overlapping – 300 mm, side – 2 waves; - at bias 1:6-1:4 end overlapping – 200 mm, side – 1 wave; - at bias 1:4 and more end overlapping – 170 mm, side – 1 wave.
5. Beat leaf of ondulin 4 rows of nails; two rows at the edges of leaf, two – in median part. The nails located at the edges fight in top of each wave, nails in average ranks – through wave. 20 nails have to be spent for one leaf.
6. The first leaf in the second row has to be half from the whole leaf. It is necessary "to part" joints of sheets in the next ranks. Begin each even row with leaf half. Carry out cutting of ondulin the hand saw or tsirkulyarka. For simplification of cutting it is possible to oil saw.
7. Provide gap between ranks of sheets on the fad no more than 10 cm. Before stacking the last ranks, beat additional obresht under ridge profile. For registration of the fad it is desirable to use standard profiles of Onduline. Begin their laying with the party opposite to the direction of winds. Overlapping by profiles of each other has to make 125 mm. Beat the fad to each crest of leaf.
8. At registration of joints between roof and vertical wall (if those are available) and also places of adjunction to each other of various planes of roof (valley gutters) use standard profiles of producers of ondulin, having beforehand beaten for their fastening additional obresht. With pediment board (roof cap) it is possible to apply two methods to waterproofing of position of joint of roof: to bend and beat the sheet edge of ondulin to pediment board or to use standard rectangular profile (chiptsovy element), having imposed it on roof edge. The first way can be applied at temperature not below 2-5 °C (in order to avoid leaf change).
