Over time the covering of pig-iron bathtub can lose the appeal. It is quite unpleasant to wash in ragged rusty bathtub in addition cracks – the favorable place for emergence of microbes. In such situation many try to restore enamel covering, especially, quite perhaps to execute it and independently.
Paint for this purpose should be bought only special, for painting of bathtubs, otherwise the result will quickly disappoint you. Complete with paint there has to be hardener. Paint should be dissolved in full accordance with the instruction and it is obligatory to pay attention to time for which enamel has to be applied on bathtub. It is desirable to carry out works in time a little smaller, than it is specified in the enclosed instruction – that is enamel has to be prepared and is at once used.
At first it is necessary to prepare surface for work. It is possible to degrease it by "Pemolux" or ordinary soda. This processing helps to clean surface both from fat, and from pollution. After that the bathtub should be smoothed out by means of drill and special nozzle with abrasive paper. On surface there should not be smooth sites – paint will not linger on them.
After cleaning the bathtub once again should be washed out means of "Pemolux" or other cleaning substance – for repeated degreasing. It is possible to check quality of processing as follows: to direct to bathtub surface stream from shower and to look whether water in drops gathers. If drops turn out, so full degreasing did not manage to achieve and the procedure should be repeated.
We prepare the painting solution – in full accordance with the instruction. It is necessary to put the first layer of enamel by means of wide brush of 60-80 mm, the direction of dabs – from sides to bathtub bottom. The portion of paint should be prepared at the rate on one layer. Having spent one portion, immediately we prepare following and we put the following layer.
In 15 minutes to check surface for formation of drips – at their availability to eliminate drips with movements of brush from below up. After coloring of bathtub to begin to use it it is possible only after week drying.
