Houseplants – true friends of the person. They help to create comfortable microclimate in the house or the apartment, promote air enrichment with oxygen and serve as decorative element in interior. That plants looked presentably and less often were exposed diseases and to defeat by wreckers, they need to be washed from time to time. Purity – the important factor influencing life of each of plants. Dust does them irreparable harm, it is especially often necessary to wash flowers which stand on kitchen. At air of the room in which cook food there is not only dust, but also still various products of burning.
- Remember that it is necessary to wash flowers regularly – it is desirable once a month, however, some plants, especially sensitive to dust, can be washed even once a week. To remove dust from surface of leaves, it is possible to use soft damp foam sponge or rag. It is possible to moisten sponge with water or special means for wiping of plants – in many specialized shops different types of such means are on sale, and some of them are universal. It is necessary to wipe leaves extremely carefully not to damage their surface.
- Some flower growers wipe surface of leaves of houseplants with soap solution. Today there is no consensus concerning advantage or harm of use of soap. If the plant is not strongly polluted, you should not wash it with chemical means – rather simply to use clear water.
- Plants with the trimmed, folded or relief leaves can be subjected to the procedure under the name "dry washing". Dry washing is carried out by means of brushes, accurately cleaning surface of plants from small lumps of the earth or dust. Such procedure has to be carried out regularly and for cacti. - It is necessary to wash with winter of plant as seldom as possible, only in process of pollution. The fact is that in the winter many houseplants are in rest stage, and washing can intensify their activity. However, this rule does not extend to plants which in the nature grow in tropics or subtropics.
