The rug made with own hands can become original decoration of your apartment. It is possible to embroider it in the ancient gobelin equipment.
It is required to you
- Thick strong canvas by the carpet size
- Woolen strings of different flowers
- Tape on carpet perimeter
- Tambour
- Needles with blunt end and big ear
- Paper and pencil
Instruction
1. You will find from canvas square or rectangle by the size slightly more future carpet.
2. On paper make the drawing of future carpet and calculate the scheme. Designate on the scheme of color. Consider that on edge of carpet the border – wide strip with ornament becomes. Calculate the scheme of ornament.
3. If you are going to use tambour, to edge of carpet with which you begin work, tack pieces of canvas. Mark canvas. Having receded a little from edge, draw line. Draw or sweep together color thread border contours.
4. Begin to embroider with background of the central part, then pass to elements of the main drawing. Embroider rug with semi-cross. Fix thread at the end of expected row, carry out it from right to left on straight line without stitches. Carry out semi-cross, doing stitches of the left bottom corner of each small square of outline in the right top. If you embroider big carpet and want to make it similar to ancient, instead of normal semi-cross use slanting gobelenny seam or ""Renaissance"". For slanting seam take outline. This seam is similar to semi-cross, but down it goes through two horizontal threads of outline, and across — through one. The seam "Renaissance" is carried out on double outline. Carry out working thread between the next vapors of vertical threads of outline across. Make vertical stitch from below up so that the laid thread remained under it. Embroider so until the end of row. Embroider the following row in the same direction, having laid thread on inner side.
5. Embroider with contrast color the same seam, as the drawing. If the drawing contrast in itself, it is possible not to designate contours.
6. Execute border. Embroider it at first on the short party in transverse direction, then make the long party, then – the second short and the second long. Fill with the drawing corners.
7. Hem carpet and close the line of seam from inner side wide tape. At the edges it is possible to make fringe – for example, having connected it by hook.
