Pyrethrum: description, popular types and grades, use

Pyrethrum – charming long-term flower from family the Thistle family. In the nature it meets in North America and across all territory of Eurasia. The plant resembling camomile, very unpretentiously superficially. Besides, pyrethrum possesses very bright flowers and looks very beautifully thanks to what it with pleasure is grown up by flower growers.

Pyrethrum — the plant possessing fibrillose root system and upright grassy escapes which in height reach 50-70 cm. Leaves are painted in bright green tone and have the plumose and sectioned form. The most part is collected in the dense socket at the basis, and the others are located on stalk ocheredno.

On each escape there is large inflorescence which diameter is 3-6 cm. "Basket" has magnificent core from reed and yellow tubular colors and long lobes. Lobes can be painted in pink, lilac, crimson, yellow or snow-white colors.

By different estimates pyrethrum is included into sort from 50 to 100 types. Among the most widespread:

  • Maiden pyrethrum which homeland is Southern Europe, the Areas of Transcaucasia. In structure leaves and bush the flower reminds chrysanthemum. Inflorescences though small, but very nice with the inflated serdtsevinka similar to pompons. buds are painted in white or yellow tone. Modern selectors have removed several effective grades from which it is possible to distinguish "Dabbl Whyte" with inflorescences similar to buttons, "Golden Ball" with terry bright yellow flowers, Virgo with beautiful white buds in the form of large spheres.
  • Pyrethrum pink — the effective plant growing in the nature in the Caucasus. The perennial plant grows to 60-70 cm in height. Escapes are covered with sectioned light green leaves. Diameter of single inflorescences baskets is about 6 cm. It is the bright yellow core and long lobes painted in different shades from light pink to bright red. Hybrids can have terry inflorescences with a diameter of 12 cm. Popular grades are "Atrosangvinea" with red lobes, "Brand" with bright pink inflorescences, Vanessa with terry flowers and yellow core.
  • Pyrethrum beautiful is extended up to 50 cm in height and forms inflorescences externally similar to field camomiles. White lobes, and semyanka between them grayish. One of the most attractive grades of this type of pyrethrum is "The Caucasian camomile".
  • Pyrethrum shchitkovy is most of all similar to camomile thanks to what the plant is often called romashnik. This perennial plant with strong root system, grows it to 120 cm in height. Escapes crown attractive inflorescences of thyroid form. Usually buds are painted in white. There are no high-quality versions.
  • Pyrethrum balsam (tansy) is the perennial plant growing to 1.5 m in height. Flowers white are collected in guards, and by the end of season they get henna-red shade. Prefers the solar place or half-shade. 

Bright inflorescences are decoration of flower bed, bright flowers fill garden with paints. Pyrethrum can be landed groups along paths or in bed frame. Pyrethrum is remarkably combined with nivyanik, hand bell, kosmey, garden poppy, yarrow, doronikumy and other plants.
