There are many ways of processing of natural stone, they allow to give to shapeless breed worthy exterior, to create certain invoice, to hide shortcomings. There are special state standard specifications which provide how it is necessary to process stone one way or another.
Natural stones differ on the chemical composition, structure of breed, durability therefore different types of stones are suitable for different types of processing. At the same time, having applied different types of processing to the same kind of stones, you receive surface with absolutely different decorative properties.
Polishing
Polishing - the most widespread type of processing of natural stones. Usually polishing is carried out at the enterprises with use of the conveyor. In the beginning the stone is processed by abrasive tools, and then final polishing is carried out by buffing or felt wheels. Polish of stone discloses its color and the natural drawing. Most often polish marble and granite.
Glassing
If you want to achieve smooth, but not smooth surface, use glassing. Glassing is carried out by buffing wheels on which the grinding powder doing surface opaque is applied, leaving on it the smallest scratches. Glossy stones most often use for exterior finish.
Grinding
Polished stones in accordance with GOST can have roughnesses of relief to 0.5 mm. Such processing is made by means of abrasive wheels on special machines. The polished surface hides the drawing of stone, to go on polished stone much more conveniently, the sole does not slide therefore polished stone - frequent material for laying of floor.
Processing by sawing
Sawing is most often used for processing of sandstone and the felzit. Sawing is made by means of machines with gate saw or by means of ultrasound. The surface processed by sawing can have roughnesses to 2 mm. Sawing up can be made with use of various abrasive materials that does surface of stone rougher or more smooth. Use of ultrasound allows to disclose color and the drawing of stone, despite high surface roughness.
Smooth stones allow to create uniform monolithic surface, and stones with relief processing - the partitioned plane.
Heat treatment
At strong heating of stone its top layer begins to melt, the special type of the invoice - roughness with peeling is formed.
Buchardirovaniye
Buchardirovaniye will be seen off by means of the machine with drums which when processing tap on stone and force down top layer. The Buchardirovanny stone can have roughnesses of relief to 5 mm, its invoice is similar to asphalt.
Also there are such types of stone dressing as etching, processing by electric current and water, grit blasting.
Pin together
Pin together usually process slate. Pin together gives to stone the uneven rough invoice similar to natural chip of rock. The stones processed by pin together are used for finishing of large buildings.
