Passionate farmers are not idle even at the height of New Year's holidays. Many of them in January start crops of flower cultures, grow up greens on windowsills. What else can be seeded in the middle of the winter?
The most part of the grown-up seedling in January is the share of flower cultures. It is connected with long time of cultivation of seedling of many favourite flowers. Or, when want to receive very early blossoming at the beginning of summer season to decorate the garden. In May it is possible to earn from the blossoming seedling not bad, having offered it to buyers. Also you should not miss such opportunity.
In the first half of month surely it is worth hurrying and seeding dolgorastushchy plants, such as:
- zone and ivylike geranium;
- Shabo's carnation, Turkish and other long-term types which at early crops blossom as annual plants;
- eustoma, for early blossoming in June;
- begonia tuberous and begonia ever flowering for decoration of flower beds and cultivation in cachepot;
- long-term delphinium, penstemon, viol for sale of the blossoming plants in pots in June and cultivation in garden.
In the second half of January on seedling sow:
- ampelous petunia, katarantus, ampelous balsam, lobelia for sale of the blossoming kultivar in May and dressing of seasonal dachas and balconies;
- heliotrope, lakfiol, primrose;
- tsinerariya seaside for cultivation as borders and in the combined flower beds.
For crops of vegetable seeds of eggplants, pepper, tomatoes in midland still rather early. It is more correct to sow these cultures on seedling since the beginning of February for receiving early harvests in greenhouses.
With crops of root celery and leek too you should not hurry. And here it is possible to seed wild strawberry seeds for receiving the blossoming seedling in May.
In January in house conditions grow up for greens onions, spinach, arugula, sheet salad, sheet mustard, basil, mangold, garden cress, the Japanese cabbage, mint, marjoram, sheet celery. For receiving the fresh cucumbers in March plant cucumbers of the self-pollinated grades. Start crops of tomatoes, pepper, eggplants for cultivation in house conditions at window and the warmed loggia.
Despite the increasing daylight hours, all January sowings it is better to carry out in the presence of additional illumination. If there is no such opportunity, then it is more preferable to postpone crops until February.
