What types of heaters exist

Construction of any house in frigid climate does not do without use of heaters. Modern thermal insulation materials can brag of excellent characteristics at small thickness, allowing to protect effectively and quickly the building from cold. But because of big variety of heaters it is difficult to make choice as everyone has merits and demerits.

There is set of types of heaters: it and traditional haydite, shlakobeton or straw, and modern materials – polyfoam, glass wool, polyurethane foam. In the rating of the most popular heaters in our country first place is won by polyfoam, mineral wool and ecocotton wool.

Mineral wool

Mineral heater in plates or rolls – one of the most widespread today. It is the soft fibrous material made by fusion of the rocks having low heat conductivity. Minvata has not only excellent heat-insulating properties (the plate of all two centimeters thick can protect the house from cold even in northern areas), but also other useful qualities: good sound insulation, resistance to temperature drops and influences of chemicals, very low hygroscopicity. Mineral wool is well deformed therefore it is plain in use, especially if it is necessary to warm pipes or walls. It badly burns and interferes with spread of fire at the fire.

Most often use minvata in rolls, but there are also mineral wool boards which it is convenient to warm facades, roofs and the bases.

Polyfoam

Polyfoam, or expanded polystyrene – one of the cheapest types of heaters which at the price is inferior unless to straw what it is very much appreciated in the budgetary construction. It has high heat-insulating properties, even exceeding indicators of mineral wool boards therefore when warming it is possible to use material of small thickness. It is very light material therefore it is easy to use it in mounting though because of this quality additional fastenings from wind are required. Polyfoam has several essential shortcomings: it very well burns, and at its heating and melting substances, harmful to organism, are allocated. Also this heater needs to be stacked without slots, otherwise cold will freely get into the room. Therefore when laying polyfoam polyurethane foam is necessary.

Mice and other rodents are not indifferent to polyfoam, and sometimes in year after warming they force to carry out works anew.

Ecocotton wool

Ecocotton wool represents the split cellulose processed by antiseptic and fire-prevention substances. This heater has number of advantages: well protects from cold, badly burns, it is absolutely safe and eco-friendly, resistant to external influences. But it is more difficult to stack it, than minvata or polyfoam as ecocotton wool needs to be evaporated or filled by means of special devices. Besides, it well absorbs moisture therefore demands vapor barrier.
