Energy saving lamps are intended for lighting not only premises, but also public institutions. Their difference from other bulbs consists in the content of 5 mg of mercury in the form of vapors which at the wrong utilization and processing poison the soil and air that leads to irreversible consequences for human health and the environment. Therefore each user of energy saving lamps has to know ways of their utilization.

Instruction

1. Carry the fused energy saving lamps in regional DEZ or REU where the containers which are specially intended for this purpose have to be installed. And already from here they go to the special enterprises which primary activity consists in processing of energy saving bulbs.

2. If there is a lot of lamps that relevant for offices and the enterprises, then it is the best of all to sign the contract with the company which is engaged in reception and further waste disposal, containing mercury.

3. It is desirable to hand over energy saving bulbs in original packing. If it has not remained, paper lamp that it has not broken when transporting.

4. If the bulb has broken, then its splinters cannot be swept away broom or to collect by the vacuum cleaner not to disperse harmful mercury vapors on all apartment. The place where the bulb has been broken, process freshly cooked solution of potassium permanganate for mercury binding. After that well air the room completely to get rid of mercury evaporations. Collect the remains of lamp in the glass capacity which will need to be closed then densely cover, and hand over them in the specialized organization.

5. Utilization of energy saving lamps is carried out in two ways. One of them consists in washing, crushing and further processing of the used lamp with special chemical reagents, connecting mercury in safer connection. Other way is thermal. Previously destroyed lamp is heated therefore there is mercury evaporation. Its couples are condensed and gather to use them in production of new bulbs.
