Whether it is necessary to ret seeds

Seeds not of all cultures are subject to soaking, some of them have artificial cover which is washed away. Nevertheless, there are plant species which without preliminary soaking do not grow.

Soaking of seeds of garden cultures positively affects stability and uniformity of shoots and accelerates emergence of sprouts. Besides, this process allows to avoid eating of the planted seeds by the wreckers who are in the soil. Soaking is necessary to wash away the dense cover consisting of the substances complicating germination from surface of seeds.

You should not ret seeds with special cover from nutrients, however it is possible to land them previously on the small limited garden site or in pot to wait for the first shoots, and then to replace to the open soil.

For soaking of seeds it is possible to use not only simple or melt water, but also the special stimulating solutions, for example, amber acid or epin. It is necessary to remember that seeds of different garden cultures demand the technique and duration of soaking. Nevertheless, the result can be defined visually: seeds bulk up, tiny shoots appear. Such seeds can be planted in previously humidified soil. For different seeds there are subtleties. For example, greens seeds (sorrel, spinach, parsley, etc.) very small, and damp them it will be difficult to sow because of stickiness. Therefore these seeds after soaking should be mixed with small amount of dry sand. Seeds of squash, pumpkins, corn have longer duration of soaking as their cover very dense. Seeds of tomatoes, cucumbers and pepper should be retted not only in water, but also in pink manganese solution. So, how it is correct to ret seeds? They need to be placed in sack from fabric or to turn in gauze, then to pour warm water into small capacity and to put there sack. It is necessary to get sometimes sack and to allow it "to breathe" that oxygen has got, it is possible to change water meanwhile. In manganese solution the sack is placed only after soaking in plain water (but not on the contrary!) and only for 10-20 minutes. Instead of gauze it is possible to use dense napkins, then seeds land to the soil directly with paper.
