1. Transfer megajoules to joules. The prefix MEGA means six, therefore, to count the number of megajoules in joules, it is necessary to increase initial number by 10 in the sixth degree, that is on 1,000,000. Let's say it is necessary to transfer 9 MDzh to Kcal. 9 MDzh are 9*1,000,000 = 9,000,000 joules. Further, it is necessary to know to what calories you need to transfer joules as there are a concept "calorie international" and the concept "calorie thermochemical". One joule corresponds 0.238846 calories the international or 0.239006 calories thermochemical.
2. Transfer joules to the international calories, using the known coefficient in kilocalorie, having divided it into 1,000, we receive 2,149.6 kilocalories (Kcal). Thus, to 9 megajoules there correspond 2149, 6 kilocalories international. Quickly MDzh can transfer to Kcal, having increased initial quantity of MDzh by coefficient 238.846 (0.238846*1,000). In this case: 9 MDzh*238.846 = 2149.6 Kcal.
3. Transfer joules to thermochemical calories, using translation coefficient: 1 J ≈ 0.239006 calories. In this example increase 9,000,000 joules by 0.239006, 2,151,054 kcal or 2,151.1 Kcal will turn out. Thus, to 9 megajoules there correspond 2151.1 kilocalories thermochemical.
4. For transfer of joules to calories it is necessary to know that 1 international calorie corresponds to 4.1868 joules, 1 thermochemical calorie - to 4.1840 joules. Transfer the number of calories to joules, having increased them by these coefficients. For example, to 500 international calories there correspond (500 * 4.1868) 2,093.4 joules, and to 500 thermochemical calories (500 * 4.1840) 2,092 joules.
