At a formal and superficial glance on history can seem that it consists of the separate facts, not enough connected among themselves. If to apply dialectic approach to this science, becomes obvious that all course of a civilization represents continuous historical process where all events are interconnected and are in causal dependence.
Historical process as forward development of society
In the most general sense process call forward development of a certain phenomenon which is followed by change of conditions of a system. Historical process represents consecutive and natural change of life of human society in which it is possible to observe both progressive development, and temporary regressive retreats back.
All development of society, beginning from allocation of the person from the natural world and finishing with a modern era, there is a uniform historical process. Its course first of all is defined by development of productive forces and those events in which the big groups of people belonging to different generations anyway participated.
Conditionally historical process can be divided into the separate social facts having the structure. Here actions of certain representatives of human community which perform functions of leaders and also joint actions of social groups belong. Historians include also tangible results of activity of people in structure of sociohistorical process – material and spiritual.
Features of historical process
Characteristic of historical process is the continuity of the events happening in society. It is shown in natural generation change, development of views of society and culture, high-quality change of philosophical doctrines and outlooks. History represents series of public crises and the periods of blossoming, military collisions and peaceful co-existence, temporary conditions of wellbeing and decline of economy. The main attribute of historical process – forward development. Being objective reality, the facts, events and the phenomena in the history arise, pass through the periods of formation and naturally move to the decline. One historical era replaces another, every time removing the collected contradictions and providing development at higher level. Process of removal of contradictions can proceed rather smoothly, evolutionarily, and can take the form of sharp social revolutions. Historical process will never be able to approach the end, adherents of historical materialism consider. While there is a mankind, the historical events connected with its activity will take place. On the deep essence the historical process is the twisting road connecting separate points and the leader from the past in the future. This way is full of obstacles through which overcoming the civilization steadily moves towards progress.
