The highest point in the world is Mount Everest. It is at the height of 8848 m from sea level. Located in the Himalayas on border of two states — Nepal and China. The mountain towers directly in the territory of China, in the Tibetan autonomous area.

1. Everest Chomolungma and Sagarmatkh also still has names. In 1823-1843 there was an expedition and geodetic service which was directed by the English engineer George Everest. He the first made shooting and the map of the Himalayas. He only did not manage to define the highest of ten mountain tops. It was made by his pupil and called the mountain by the name of the teacher. Chomolungma means "Divine" from the Tibetan zyk, and Sagarmatkh — the Nepalese name which is translated as "Mother of Gods".
2. Everest was formed in the sea more than 20 million years ago. The seabed rose to the surface because of tectonic deformation. Still there is this process, and every year the Himalayas mountains rise by 5 cm above. Chomolungma has the structure of a pyramidal form. The southern part of the mountain the most steep, and because of it is not enough snow here.
3. The mountain is a part of Ridge Makhalangur-Hamal. At its top always the strongest winds which blow with an enormous speed of 50 m/s. Air temperature falls to at night - 60 wasps therefore in the mountain there are a lot of glaciers. Many call it the kingdom of ice and a stone.
4. Everest, being the highest point in the world, draws to itself attention of many climbers. Every year thousands of attempts of ascensions on top are made. However such ascensions are characterized by complexity. Some storming the mountain end the life death. It is caused by bad climatic conditions and considerable height of the mountain. For the last 50 years on its slopes about 200 people died. Annually more than 500 people try to subdue Chomolungma. Rise on its top takes about 2 months, also installation of camps in intervals and acclimatization enters here. During this time 4000 lucky visited the highest top of Earth.
5. Many begin the travel with the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu. From there climbers go to the capital of Tibet Lhasa and already from there walk to the camp which is located at the foot of Everest. There is a lot of persons interested to conquer the mountain, but also big money is for this purpose necessary. For example, ascension with guides, group, safety, equipment and training will cost 50 thousand dollars.
6. In 2005 to Everest it was succeeded to put the helicopter, in 2010 the mountain the 13-year-old climber who is considered the youngest, and the first woman subdued, the storming Everest, there was Japanese Tabey Dzhunko in 1976. Tenzing Norgeem and Edmund of Hillary in 1953 were the very first people, conquered the highest place in the world. From now on the Himalaya mountain became the treasured purpose for all climbers of the world.
