According to results of the research conducted by scientists from the university of New York, women and men perceive colors differently. This discrepancy arises owing to features of sight and information processing by a brain of women.

1. Scientists established that some colors are perceived by women less bright, than they are actually. For example, if the girl and the man look at orange, then the woman it will seem "to less red". But at the same time yellow and green shades of the woman see more accurate than men. In general scientists made the conclusion that ladies better perceive shades green, yellow and blue. For this reason, for example, it is better to trust the choice of color of paint for walls to the woman.
2. According to researchers, differences in perception of flowers at men and women are explained not by the so different structure of eyes. Most likely, under the influence of men's hormone of testosterone the brain in a different way processes signals which arrive from organs of vision.
3. It is established that women distinguish more shades, than men. The reason for this increased photosensitivity is explained by the fact that eyes of women contain more cages which are responsible for perception of color scale. For this reason men are most often indifferent to flowers and their shades and are surprised when women buy for themselves many things, apparently, of one color.
4. For example, in red color of the girl distinguish crimson, crimson, purple and the set of other shades, however to men seems only red, without any half tones. Besides, at women the night sight is well developed, and in the dark women see rather large number of details, though at a short distance.
5. Scientists are sure that women have the special gene responsible for recognition of red color and located on one of two female X-chromosomes. Men have such chromosome only one because of what it is much more difficult for them to distinguish shades red and other flowers. Thus, it is unlikely women should worry about the choice of a shade of lipstick for the first date.
