We hope for anybody there will be no information opening that the car, to be exact its exhausts, lead to environmental pollution. To cope with this shortcoming, producers of cars think out the different technologies directed to decrease in concentration of emissions in the atmosphere. For example, in many cars the adsorber is used, here it is only worth understanding for what it is necessary by car. According to environmental standard Euro 3, vapors of hydrocarbon should not get to the atmosphere. The absorber represents the small capacity of black color which is located under the air intake in a motor compartment on the right side.
For what the adsorber is necessary?
For a start we will understand that in general means such concept as adsorption is a process of absorption of gases, thanks to liquids or solid materials. In this device, that is in the adsorber coal which, absorbs in itself(himself) couples which are allocated in a fuel system is used, and sends them on burned up. Thanks to it emission of vapors of gasoline is minimized. Speaking about for what the adsorber in the car is necessary, it is also worth telling that this device promotes more stable and correct operation of the engine.
Finding out why the adsorber is necessary, it is impossible to miss one more important purpose of this installation – it supports normal pressure in the fuel tank. If this device is not in the car, then the driver will have difficulties with opening of a cover of a gasoline tank.
To understand for what the adsorber valve is necessary, it is necessary to understand the principle of its work. This device has direct link with the ventilation system, and connection with the inlet valve is carried out thanks to the adsorber valve. In a tank of the car there is a huge amount of vapors which rise tanks up and collect there, and then, get to the separator located at a mouth. In this installation they are condensed and turn into liquid which gets to the fuel tank again. At the same time it is worth noticing that not all couples are exposed to condensation, and they via the gravitational valve and tubes appear in the adsorber where couples with success are absorbed by coal. Such principle of operation of the adsorber is possible, only, when the engine is in a non-working state. When the car is got, the solenoid valve opens and it gives the chance to blow the adsorber that leads to the fact that fuel vapors, passing through other valve, appear in the engine where there is their combustion. Summing up the result of all aforesaid it is possible to tell that the adsorber performs two important functions: does not give the chance to pollute the atmosphere and at the same time saves fuel.
In certain cases at insufficient maintenance, the coal filling the adsorber can become soiled that leads to the fact that the device cannot carry out filtration of petrol vapors fully any more. In that case, for enrichment of fuel mix, the adsorber has to have the special channel for an air intake.
Now we will talk about signs which indicate that the adsorber broke. First of all breakage will be shown by excessive pressure in a gasoline tank. It is simple to check it: open a gasoline tank cover, and during it characteristic hissing will be heard. One more sign of malfunction is falling of turns on idling at warming up of the engine up to 60 degrees. For check, it is necessary to disconnect shlag, the connecting collector and the valve, and to muffle it in any way, for example, having bent. In case the problem was not gone, so the adsorber nevertheless is faulty. One more signal speaking about malfunction – problems in the engine at dispersal.
