Sometimes it is required to find a condenser charge in the equipment and tasks in physics. Direct measurement of a charge of the condenser – a task quite labor-consuming. Therefore in practice more available methods of finding of a charge of the condenser are used.

Instruction

1. To find a charge of the condenser connected to a source of constant tension increase condenser capacity by tension size, i.e. use a formula: Q=UC, where: Q – the condenser charge, in pendants, U is tension source tension, in volts, With – condenser capacity, in farads. Consider that the above-stated formula determines the size of a charge of completely charged condenser. But as charging of the condenser occurs quickly enough, in practice use this regularity.

2. Tension of the power supply can be measured by the voltmeter. For this purpose switch it to the mode of measurement of constant tension and connect device terminals to tension source. Write down instrument readings in volts.

3. It is possible to learn condenser capacity having read marking on its case. Consider that unit of capacity of farad (F) – very big therefore in practice it is used seldom. For designation of capacity of condensers smaller units are used. It is a microfarad (mkf), equal one million farad and a picofarad (pf), equal one million microfarad.1 mkf =10-6 F, 1 pf = 10-12 F. Also intermediate unit of capacity – the nanofarade equal to one billion part of a farad.1 nf = 10-9 F is sometimes used.

4. If the condenser small-sized, then its capacity is specified by means of symbols. Attentively read marking of the condenser, having paid attention to its color. If on the condenser only two figures are specified, then it is its capacity in picofarads. So, for example, the inscription "60" will mean capacity 60 pf.

5.
