How to find the area of the sphere

The sphere call a sphere surface. In a different way it can be defined as a three-dimensional geometrical figure which all points are at identical distance from the point called by the center of the sphere. To find out the sizes of this figure it is enough to know only one parameter - for example, the radius, diameter, the area or volume. Their values are connected among themselves by constant ratios which allow to remove a simple formula of calculation of each of them.

Instruction

1. If length of diameter of the sphere (d) is known, then for finding of the area of its surface (S) you square this parameter and multiply by Pi's number (π): S=π ∗ d². For example, if length of diameter is two meters, then the area of the sphere will be 3.14∗2²=12.56 square meters.

2. If length of radius (r) is known, then the surface area of the sphere (S) will be the quadruple work of the squared radius on Pi's number (π): S=4 ∗π ∗ r². For example, with a sphere radius length three meters its area will be 4∗3,14∗3²=113.04 square meters.

3. If the volume (V) space limited to the sphere is known, then at first it is possible to find its diameter (d), and then to use the formula given in the first step. As volume is equal to the one sixth part from the work of number of Pi at the cubed length of diameter of the sphere (V=π ∗ d³/6), diameter can be determined how a cubic root from six volumes divided into Pi's number: d=³ √ (6∗V/π). Having substituted this value in a formula from the first step, we will receive: S=π ∗ ³ √ (6∗V/π)². For example, at the volume of the space of equal 500 cubic meters limited to the sphere the calculation of its area will look so: 3.14 ∗ ³ √ (6∗500/3.14))² = 3.14 ∗ ³ √ 955.41)² = 3,14∗9,85² = 3,14∗97,02 = 304.64 square meters.

4. It is quite difficult to make all these calculations in mind therefore it is necessary to use any of calculators. For example, it can be the calculator who is built in Google search engines or Nigma. Google differs to the best in the fact that is able to define independently an order of operations, and Nigma will demand from you to place all brackets carefully. For calculation of the area of the sphere by data, for example, from the second step the search query which should be entered into Google will look so: "4*пи*3^2". And for the most difficult case with calculation of a cubic root and squaring from the third step the inquiry will be such: "p * (6*500/p) ^ (2/3)".
