1. First of all, it is necessary to know: never dissolve potassium permanganate in pans, buckets, basins or other kitchen utensils. Potassium permanganate by all means will leave on them the marks, and material of ware can begin to react with solution (do not forget, permanganate of potassium is salt, that is chemical compound, and quite actively behaving in different environments). Ware from transparent glass, say, a one-liter jar or a bottle from under juice best of all will be suitable for our purposes.
2. Now it is necessary to calculate proportions correctly. It is not necessary to weigh potassium permanganate, most likely: it is on sale in packings on which weight - 5 g, 10 g, 15 g and so on is already designated. On each 5 grams of potassium permanganate 95 grams of water undertake. That is, if 1 liter of 5% solution is necessary for us, then 10 packs of permanganate of potassium on 5 grams of each and 950 grams of water will be required.
3. Now water should be warmed up: in warm water everything is dissolved quicker. Taking into account that solution, most likely, will be necessary for some medical or hygienic purposes, optimum water temperature will be 35-40 degrees, such temperature easily is defined by fingers. The warmed-up water pours out in the prepared clean can, afterwards potassium permanganate pours out there. You should not pour water into solid - it is the general rule of preparation of solutions. For stirring in laboratories use a glass stick, but in living conditions it is possible to stir a disposable plastic spoon, metal for these purposes you should not use.
