- - baking soda;
- - vinegar (acetic essence is better).
Instruction
1. Take a small saucepan and put it on a plate. Pour in it vinegar, further begin to fill soda, evenly stirring slowly with the formed mix. When it becomes uniform, pour it in a glass or any other capacity and put in the fridge that mix cooled down. The received liquid is called sodium acetate. Observance of accuracy in proportions is not especially important - do everything approximately, the amount of soda and vinegar has to be approximately identical.
2. Get already frozen combination of vinegar and soda from the fridge. If liquid was frozen, at you it turned out to make ice. If on a surface there was not frozen liquid, merge it - that result of insufficient evaporation of vinegar. The cooled-down mix is called sodium crystalline hydrate. After you got the container with sodium acetate, begin to make an experiment at once, otherwise it will begin to involve water, and the surprising effect will not work well.
3. Put this monolithic piece on fire further. It in the eyes will begin to melt. Begin to merge it in other vessel, leaving a deposit in the capacity in which you heated ice. Cover this vessel with a napkin that liquid did not harden ahead of time.
4. Take a tiny piece of already solid acetic sodium (it the same, as sodium acetate) or just spread with it a finger. It can be taken from what remained after discharge. By then it will already harden.
5. Further the most interesting begins. Now remove a napkin and touch the surface of liquid. In the eyes you will see a unique metamorphosis: liquid in the eyes will begin to turn into ice!
6. You can not only turn sodium acetate liquid into ice, but also do various figures and silhouettes. For this purpose rub with a piece of dry crystalline hydrate of sodium a surface of some plane limited to edges. Begin to pour gradually on it liquid acetate of sodium. Only having adjoined to a surface, it will be frozen in the eyes. Water very slowly, the hill will grow then. Thus, you can form various figures. Here so simply it is also interestingly possible to spend time and to amuse itself or friends.
