It is possible to transfer from one unit of measure to another only numbers of identical dimension. Linear units – in linear, square – in square, cubic – in cubic, etc. The fixed numerical coefficient is assigned to the standard metric prefixes "miles", "sant", "dets" and others.
Instruction
1. The sant prefix (Latin centum – "hundred") designates multiplier 10^(-2). That is the centimeter is the one 100-th share of meter if it is about linear units of measure.
2. In square units the gap between "meters" and "centimeters" increases. One square centimeter is a square with the party 1 centimeter. The square meter is illustrated by a square with the party 1 meter. The size of the area differs not in 100 any more, and by 10000 times.
3. The gap between cubic "meters" and "centimeters" is even more. It makes already 10^3=1000000 time. The cubic meter is conditionally represented by a cube with the party 1 meter.
4. To transfer cubic centimeters to cubic meters, divide number on 10^6 or that the same, increase by 10^(-6). For example, 5 cubic cm = 5/10^6 CBM = 5•10^(-6) CBM = 0.000005.
5. Back to transfer cubic meters to cubic centimeters, increase number on 10^6. For example, 2 CBM = 2•10^6 of cubic cm = 2000000 cc.
6. An intermediate link between centimeters and meters is "decimeter". The dets prefix (Latin of decimus - "the tenth part") means a multiplier 10^(-1). The cubic dimension "will treble" this multiplier.
7. To transfer cubic centimeters to cubic decimeters, increase number by 10^(-3) (or divide on 10^3). For example, 9 cubic cm = 9•10^(-3) cubic dm = 9/10^3 cubic dm = 0.009 cubic dm.
8. To transfer cubic decimeters to cubic centimeters, make the return operation: increase number on 10^3. For example, 1 cubic dm = 1•10^3 of cubic cm = 1000 cc.
