Reflection as general property of matter

Reflection as general property of matter

Reflection is organically inherent in the nature. Faces this property of matter of people almost daily, for example, looking in a mirror or watching a surface of a water smooth surface. But in terms of philosophy the term "reflection" makes deeper meaning. It comprises fundamental property of matter to reproduce itself(himself).

Instruction

1. In philosophy understand general property of a material world to reproduce essential signs and the relations of an object as reflection. Most fully the category of reflection was described by V.I. Ulyanov (Lenin) whose works contain answers to many questions of philosophy. Lenin emphasized that reflection is property which is to a degree inherent in all material world.

2. Reflection is shown in the nature in different ways. Its character is defined by a type of matter and level of its organization. In lifeless and wildlife reflection acts in various forms. But different types of reflection have the general property: this ability of matter to reproduce itself is observed during direct interaction of material objects among themselves.

3. Usual mechanical deformation of a subject which happens, for example, at the time of expansion of substance under the influence of temperature can be an example of reflection. One of indicative examples of reflection is connected with distribution of electromagnetic waves. The result of their influence can be observed in the art of photography. Widely reflection and in physiology meets: the pupil of an eye changes the sizes at lighting change.

4. At living organisms the reflection is shown in the form of irritability. In response to external influence living tissue changes the excitability and gives the return selective reaction. Being the biological form of reflection preceding mentality, the irritability of living tissue carries out function of regulation of a condition of an organism. At higher stage of development of life the irritability turns into sensitivity which is shown in feelings of a different modality.

5. In process of formation of sense organs the living beings have an ability to complete perception of reality. Constructed on separate feelings, perception allows to reflect all richness of manifestations of reality in all its variety. Complete images, complexes of feelings in which significant properties and the relations of reality are comprehensively imprinted become result of this form of reflection.

6. Higher types of reflection are consciousness and consciousness of the person. These forms arise only at a certain level of development of live matter. Consciousness assumes not only passive display of the relations of the reality surrounding the person, but also active impact on the world for the purpose of its transformation. From this point of view the reflection has the activity inherent in human beings.
