What is greenhouse effect

In the last decade the phenomenon of greenhouse effect is quite widely lit with mass media, making people think on the relation to the planet. But greenhouse effect has not only negative consequences.

The phenomenon of greenhouse effect was for the first time stated and proved by Joseph Fourier in the middle of the 19th century, and it designates increase in temperature of the lower layers of the atmosphere because of allocation of energy from heating of gases (generally carbon dioxide and water vapor). The positive impact of greenhouse effect on life of the planet is shown in temperature maintenance on its surface at which on it life arose and developed. In lack of this phenomenon temperature on the Earth's surface would be much lower.

But for many reasons the concentration of greenhouse gases increases in this connection the atmosphere becomes low-permeable for infrared beams. Because of it temperature on the Earth's surface increases that can lead to negative consequences over time. The climate gradually changes and average annual temperature grows with the increasing rates.

Researches of scientists repeatedly confirmed that a major factor of increase in greenhouse effect is human activity. This intensive combustion of oil, gas, coal, universal drainage of reservoirs, deforestation and also industrial activity. Climate changes result unpleasant consequences, and unpleasant for the mankind. First of all, this change of intensity of loss of precipitation (in droughty areas they will become even less, in damp - on the contrary). Thawing of glaciers will lead to sea level rise, flooding of coastal territories and islands, and change of the habitat will destroy up to 2/3 plant species and animals. Also agriculture will suffer. For a human body of a consequence of greenhouse effect are negative too. High temperatures will lead to exacerbation of cardiovascular diseases, they will extend atypical insects (malarial mosquitoes and others) to areas where the immunity to their stings is not developed. Problems in food will cause hunger in needy areas. Unfortunately, completely it will not be possible to stop and eliminate consequences of long-term increases in temperatures. But the mankind is able to reduce intensity of the main reasons for greenhouse effect. So, it is possible to reduce the probability of the most terrifying consequences due to reduction of production and consumption of natural fuel, introduction of energy saving measures, development and introduction of new eco-friendly ways of production, restoration of the woods capable to absorb carbon dioxide in a large number.
