What is physical geography

Geography in translation from Ancient Greek - "records about Earth". This doctrine about the planet Earth, the people inhabiting it about human relations and the habitat. The geography is subdivided into 2 fundamental parts: physical geography – science a terrestrial landscape, and economic geography – science about people and about that as well as where they live. In turn both of these directions are subdivided into narrower sections of human knowledge.

Already in far antiquity the physiographic ideas arose. Philosophers tried to explain any given natural phenomena which could observe on the globe. With development of opportunities of science in general the geography received a new round of development now. The physical geography is a science which studies a geographical envelope of Earth and also its structural parts. Treat the main sections of physical geography such as physical geography and landshaftovedeniye. In the section physical geography the general regularities of the building and formation of a geographical envelope of Earth are studied. And in the section a landshaftovedeniye the difficult natural and natural and anthropogenic geosystems of various rank are studied. Also the physical geography includes such doctrine as paleogeography. The fact that it joins sciences which study single elements of the environment is still interesting. These are such sciences as geomorphology - science about all roughnesses of sushi, an ocean floor, their age, origin and many other things; climatology which studies climate changes of the globe; the hydrology of sushi studying waters of sushi: various rivers, lakes etc.; the oceanology - considers interaction of the ocean and the atmosphere; glaciology - science about forms of formation of ice and snow covers; geocryology studying frozen rocks, their structure and the building; geography of soils - science about regularities of distribution of the soil on earth crust; the biogeography - is engaged in studying distribution of fauna on earth crust and features of fauna and flora. Each single science from above listed can belong to one of natural sciences. Let's give examples: the geomorphology belongs to geology, biogeography to biology, etc. It is worth noticing that the physical geography is closely connected with cartography - the science studying interrelation of society, objects and natural phenomena and economic geography.
