Since the childhood inspire in people that it is bad and wrong to lie. Nevertheless, people tell a lie, besides quite often. However besides widespread deception for own protection there is also a white lie – the deception designed to protect other people.
White lie and white lie
Often confuse saving deception with polite. For this reason people quite often deny existence of a white lie: they believe that it is about a classical "white lie" when conceal the truth not to offend the person. Actually it is absolutely different concepts. The white lie is designed to hide not too significant truth not to anger and to upset. Its time people use, praising a new hairstyle or a dress of the acquaintances or noting their positive lines which are absent actually.
The white lie in many countries is a politeness tribute therefore it can be used safely, without being afraid of censure from society.
The white lie is applied in serious cases, when it comes to much more serious things, than discomfort or offense of other person. The patient who is not differing in strong character and firmness should not say that his disease is too serious and can soon kill him. Telling such terrible truth, people not only poison the last weeks of human life, but also let it know that now for it there was only one way, and it conducts at the cemetery. For those who cannot already fight for the life such words can become the real sentence. Will use much more humanely a white lie – it will give not only hope, but also forces for fight.
As the lie can be saving
If you do not trust in a white lie, think that it helped to save a set of lives in hard times. Deception allowed to hide innocent people at the time of wars. Prisoners used it during interrogations to save lives of other people. Thanks to it those who were somehow involved in political cases could survive at the time of repressions.
Even the Christians blaming a lie have the example: if Judas kissed Jesus, and one of his pupils, the Messiah would survive. He was ruined not by(with) a lie, but the truth.
It is very important to understand that the white lie is possible only in critical situations. It is impossible to cover with this concept small deception, such substitution caused that the noble lie turned into the myth. The saving lie is appropriate when it does not harm, and protects. Adoptive father and mother say to the boy who was so adopted in infancy that they also are his real parents. So children are protected from the facts which can damage their mentality and break life.
