If royal races arrive to the Netherlands in the nearest future, then only on the track in Zandwort. Two Dutch cities, Zandwort and Assen, still quite recently applied for the post in the calendar of royal races in the season-2020. At the same time in Zandwort could conclude the exclusive agreement of intent with directorate of the championship which term comes to an end this month.
Assen which in this season will receive the stages MotoGP and DTM was considered as spare option - if in Zandwort won't be able to find the necessary amount of financing. However public council concerning sport of the Netherlands Nlsportraad published the open letter in parliament of the country, to the Minister of Sport and the vice-Minister of Economics, mayors of the cities, directorate of autodromes and the leaders of the Provinces of Zandwort and Assen and also FOM. On the basis of negotiations with the autodrome and with FOM in the letter it is told that Assen isn't considered as the potential arena of the stage of "Formula One" any more. Also the letter contains the request to the government to help with carrying out the stage though earlier it refused it. In the letter published on Monday, the chairman of the board concerning sport Mikhayel van Prague and the secretary general Marietta van der Foote wrote: "Direct contacts between Nlsportraad and the responsible manager of FOM led to the fact that Zandwort remained the only candidate who is able to receive the stage of royal races in the Netherlands, thanks to the rich historical heritage and proximity of the large cities and the airports.
In FOM told that the only opportunity on what "Formula One" will arrive to the Netherlands, is in that the economic feasibility of carrying out the stage in Zandwort was managed to be proved before the contract expiration. Last month the government as it was told by the paragraph above, stated that Gran Pri the Netherlands doesn't intend financial guarantees for carrying out.
The main problem of Zandwort - total absence of finance as not local not state budgets aren't ready to include in items of expenditure in modernization of infrastructure and to pay the solid payment for arrival of royal races. In the letter of Nlsportraad it is reported also that in Zandwort noted very strong decrease in interest from potential sponsors after it became known of lack of financial enthusiasm at the government of the country. Also it is reported that sponsors categorically don't like the fact of the competition between Zandwort and Assen. Therefore in Nlsportraad want the government nevertheless to be supported by the stage in Zandwort and that necessary means were found in the budget of the state.
Gran Pri in the Netherlands isn't carried out since far 1985.
