Racing Point bought the land in Silverstone that by 10 times exceeds available the site, for the purpose of increase in base.
The Racing Point team got recently 27 acres of farmlands which are located near the existing base of three acres built in far 1991 for Jordan Grand Prix.
Construction will begin right after matching of all legal documents. The central part will be located directly across the road from the central entrance on the track Silverstone.
The earth near base where other venues, important for team, are located, still belongs to Eddie Jordan.
The head of team Otmar Safnauyer explained: "It is near. We meanwhile have no allowing documentation, but? we hope that we will receive it soon.
Now we work on the entry. We have six months on all necessary procedures. Will pass probably 3-4 months before we submit the application because of this permission. As soon as we receive it, we will begin works.
I think, we need approximately, two years for end of new base, then we pervezum all infrastrutura of team in it.
We have three acres of the earth. We got 27 more nearby. Now we have 30 acres".
The main objective is to place all team on one site, now the aerodynamic department is based in the wind tunnel in Brekley, approximately in 11 kilometers from base.
However the team has the problem, is now planned to limit expenses since 2021. Therefore it is difficult to understand what venues should be built.
Safnauyer added: "We have to choose the correct sizes, but I don't know what. When new rules are unknown, it is difficult to make it. How to us to learn how big factory to plan what to build and what isn't present?
The only thing that we know that the building for personnel which stands on the site very little now. It is known to us for certain. And here what we don't know, it is need of the new wind tunnel, for example.
We bought enough land for expansion and we will reduce if necessary it according to rules".
Safnauyer added: "We have the certain notion of what will be 2021, even with restrictions of expenses. Even with the mentioned restrictions of expenses we need all the same more place. Now we have about 300 people on the basis and 100 – on another.
We can't place more than 350 employees in one place, and them with us 425. We need all the same the new building to gather all. We will extend. Therefore what restriction wouldn't be we all the same will have expenses less.
We have to develop also in strategic sense over time. The main thing is to place all under the same roof. It will be so better.
Someone told me today that in terms of human resources we are the second least team. I think, in Haas there are even less people, but they spend more money. Therefore in terms of the budget probably we the smallest, and on human resources – the second smallest".
