In the USA in the run-up to the London Olympic Games the serious scandal ran high. The form for the American Olympic team which as it appeared, was sewed in China became the occasion.
Development of the new form for the American Olympians was entrusted the producer of clothes, famous in the USA, – the Ralph Lauren company. For sewing of the form the company decided to use cheap labor of China. This fact extremely revolted the American senators and congressmen. The leader of the democratic majority in Senator of the USA Harry Read said that now it is necessary to develop the textile industry and to create new jobs in America, and it has to be a shame to the American Olympic committee with such rash decision. Uniting all aforesaid, Harry Read suggested to burn the Olympic form manufactured in China.
In response to charges the American Olympic committee explained that the cheap labor was used only with the purpose to reduce the prime cost of clothes, it has to be available not only to athletes. The form already went on bulk sale in the USA, and anyone can get for himself the complete set of clothes, as from members of the Olympic team. If this form was manufactured in the USA, then its cost would be much higher. The committee also emphasized that they are happy with cooperation with the Ralph Lauren company, and reminded that the Olympic team of the USA is provided not at the expense of the state, and at the expense of means of private investors.
Athletes were satisfied with the new form and don't support nervousness of parliamentarians. The Olympic champion Todd Rogers who won gold in beach volleyball on Olipiade-2008 in Beijing expressed the opinion: "It seems to me that parliamentarians have many other important questions except how to think of where Ralph Lauren sewed clothes". In the new form the members of the American Olympic team of the USA have to appear at the opening ceremony of the XXX Summer Olympic Games in London which will be held on July 27, 2012.
