Domestic cats are descendants of different representatives of the cat family. Some breeds of domestic cats received such characteristic features as the large size and animal weight from the predatory ancestors. Maine Coon
The obvious leader of the big sizes – cat breed a Maine Coon. The ancient cat breed arose in North America in the state Maine about 150 years ago. Despite big dimensions and weight, representatives of this breed are mobile and graceful.
Savanna
One more cat breed which representatives differ in the big sizes is the savanna. It is short-haired breed with a leopard color. Cats the savanna happened after artificial crossing of a domestic cat to a wild African serval. Not all felinologists recognize this breed as house. As many hybrids, the savanna is unstable breed which does not transfer to posterity accurate signs. And males of the savanna to the 4th generation are infertile. Due to such difficulties of cultivation, kittens of the savanna are extremely expensive, the price can reach 20000 c.u. Cats of breed the savanna inherited a flexible, graceful body, long extremities and extraordinary spring ability from wild ancestors. Height in withers of animals can reach 60 cm, and the weight of large cats reaches 15 kg. At cats the weight is less – 7-8 kg. The savanna it is difficult to accustom cats to a tray therefore it is preferable to support them in the private house. Cats are easily trained, like to walk on a lead.
Ragdoll
The young breed a ragdoll is removed by crossing of cats of the Burmese and Persian breeds. It is interesting that for obtaining new breed the most inactive, quiet and peaceful cats who were not knowing streets undertook. As a result of representatives of this breed distinguishes quiet temper, the lowered tone of muscles and patience. Semi-long-haired cats a ragdoll have considerable weight – 7-10 kg for what they are called by "good-natured giants". Ragdolls badly jump, can sit for hours on a lap. At good food their dense beautiful wool of a white or lilac color never falls down. One more distinctive feature of breed are huge bright blue eyes.
