1. Remember that frequent change of water in an aquarium leads to developing of diseases and to death of small fishes. The mistake of many beginners consists in it: fresh water does not become ideal option at all, and all efforts on its replacement can result in undesirable results.
2. Do not change water in a new aquarium at least within two months. When in capacity water is for the first time filled in and there start small fishes, the habitat is too unstable. If an aquarium big, frequent replacement of liquid leads to the fact that it will be more difficult for your "pets" to adapt to new conditions, and process of their development will slow down. If capacity is small, such mistake can lead of all its inhabitants to death. Carefully you watch a condition of the water environment – if it is healthy, then and small fishes will be able to live with comfort. If there are problems, it will affect all inhabitants of an aquarium.
3. When there pass 2-3 months after the beginning of use of a new aquarium, begin to change water gradually. It is allowed to replace no more than 20% of total amount of liquid, besides it is possible to do it not more often than every two weeks. An optimal variant – replacement of 15% of volume of water of times a month. However, if you have such opportunity, add 10% of pure liquid each 1.5 weeks. Every time, performing this procedure, it is necessary to collect the garbage which accumulated on soil and to carefully purify glasses.
4. In 3-4 months change the mode of a doliv of water again. The fact is that later half a year after the beginning of use of a new aquarium the water environment completely stabilizes, and for small fishes there comes the period of the highest level of comfort. Now will enough change 20% of volume of liquid of times a month. At this stage your task is not to spoil the established biological balance.
5. Update the water environment in a year after filling of an aquarium. Within two months it will be necessary to replace 4-5 times on 20% of volume of water, besides every time it is necessary to wash out a part of soil. As a result in 2 months all glasses and other elements of an aquarium have to be completely purified. When you finish this procedure, it is possible to change 20% of water of times a month with minimum "cleaning" of soil again. A year later cleaning should be repeated once again.
6. Change water in an aquarium completely only in the most difficult situations when to restore the normal habitat for fishes there is no opportunity. It is about cases when water strongly "blossoms", becomes too muddy, on surfaces there is a slime or when in water there are dangerous microorganisms killing fishes.
