1. Many people consider that the turtle will leave hibernation itself, but it not so. Process of an exit of hibernation is started by gradual temperature increase – it symbolizes the beginning of a warm season. For a start transfer a turtle to the room, it is better to do it step by step within three days. For example, at first place a terrarium with a turtle on a windowsill in the cool room, then find warmer place, then already bring in the ordinary room and put there where the terrarium will always stand. After that it is possible to include heating, gradually increasing temperature to 28-30 degrees within 3-4 days.
2. After awakening the turtle is strongly dehydrated therefore she should be bathed in a warm bath. Water temperature has to be about 32-33 degrees. It is possible to add to water for bathing a glucose ampoule, but do not use any shampoos and the washing substances as the bath purpose – elimination of dehydration, but not clarification of a turtle. For bathing of a turtle it is the best of all to use a small tray. Just place an animal approximately there for 20 minutes. Warm water will soften skin, and the turtle will be able to drink freely so much how many it will want it, without using to it any efforts. If with a turtle something not so – she is obviously dehydrated (it is expressed in dryness of skin), exhausted (leanness around pads and a neck is noticeable) or is inactive, then it is necessary to continue a series of heat baths. It is necessary to do them every day. Beware of drafts as after a heat bath the turtle can easily catch a cold therefore after the procedure immediately place an animal back in a warm terrarium.
3. After hibernation the turtle not only is dehydrated, but also is hungry as all this period of time it kept on fat stocks. If with a turtle everything is good, then she will begin to eat in 5-7 days after motivation. If suddenly she does not begin to eat normally – urgently see a doctor.
