Quite often adult cats and kittens suffer from defeat by various parasites. Are very well adapted for existence on a body of pets of a flea – the wingless insects flattened from sides and having the jagged jaws. The saliva of fleas getting to a wound at a sting causes allergic reaction, and existence of a large number of parasites can lead to anemia and provoke death of kittens.
Instruction
1. Before applying parasiticide medicines, remember several simple rules: - carefully study the label of the bought means. Some medicines are suitable for extermination of fleas at dogs, but are contraindicated to cats because of their habit to be licked; - never mix medicines of different influence. It is possible to use separately the shampoos and sprays saving from parasites, but simultaneous application of these means leads to poisoning; - you carry out prevention of appearance of fleas; - using medicine for the first time, you put a dose less recommended to observe behavior of a cat; - having noticed negative reaction, immediately bath a cat in clear warm water and immediately show an animal to the veterinarian.
2. Put an antiflea collar on a cat. The substances located on a tape surface gradually are transferred to leather and hair of an animal and have repellent effect on fleas. As some types of collars are dangerous to kittens, sick and elderly cats, attentively study the instruction. Consider that if the animal is strongly infected by parasites, then fleas can just move towards a tail, far away from distribution of effect of medicine. Observe behavior of a cat: freedom-loving animals are not always ready to suffer presence of a collar on the body.
3. Wash up a cat, using the shampoo which are specially intended for extermination of fleas, soap or foam. Do not soap a muzzle of an animal, especially attentively avoid hit of means on a nose, in eyes and ears. After time recommended in the instruction, carefully rinse and wrap a cat in a towel. Let's not to allow it lick wool before full drying.
4. Use special spray for cats. Accurately, but strong take an animal for a nape and within 3-4 seconds spray means at first along a back, and then along a stomach. If there is no opportunity to carry out the procedure on the street, process a cat in rooms where there is no drinking water, food, aquariums.
5. By means of the pipette put anti-flea drops. Apply means in a back between shovels of a cat or at a skull base around a neck. Observe the dosage specified in the instruction attached to drops.
6. A small comb comb out from cat's wool of adult individuals of parasites, and also their larvae and eggs. For prevention of appearance of fleas use the sacks from dense cotton fabric filled with the crushed leaves of a bitter wormwood. Spread out them in those places where your cat as the smell of this plant frightens off parasites likes to sleep.
