2. Before installation the terrarium needs to be washed out and dried carefully. After that the layer of earth is put on a bottom. Depending on a species of an animal it can be sand or pebble.
3. In addition to soil it is good to use a sphagnum moss. It not only is excellent substrate, but also perfectly absorbs and holds moisture, helping to support an optimum microclimate with a terrarium.
4. If you plan to put in a plant terrarium, then it is necessary to pick up those types which your pet will not eat. Plants also have to be nonpoisonous.
5. In a terrarium it is necessary to establish the shelter in which the pet will be able to have a rest. Shelters can be bought in pet-shop or to make independently of a half of a clay pot.
6. On a bottom it is also possible to establish smooth stones and snags which yours the pet with pleasure will climb.
7. Additional heating is necessary for many species of Amphibia and reptiles therefore do not forget to buy a special lamp. If its light and heat will be not enough, then it is possible to install the special mini-heater for terrariums.
8. At the bottom place feeding troughs and drinking bowls from which it will be convenient to your pet to eat.
9. If you do an aquaterrarium, then it is necessary to fill up with soil only that part which acts above the ground. Over it it is necessary to establish a lamp that the animal could be heated.
