Knocking over of ears to dogs – surgery on correction of a form which is carried out with the decorative or medical purpose. Though disputes on need of knocking over continue all the time, many owners go on this step that the appearance of a dog conformed to standards of breed.
Knocking over of ears was widespread for dogs of hunting and combative breeds. No change of a diet and walks for the dog who underwent an operation on knocking over of ears is provided. The main task of the owner is control over a condition of ears and a postoperative seam. The special collar should be put on it right after operation and to remove only after wounds completely heal. It is necessary to treat seams and the wounds the bathing tampons moistened in 1% spirit solution of brilliant green, 3% solution of peroxide of hydrogen or weak solution of tincture of a calendula. Periodically they should be processed streptocide powder – for this purpose rather simply to pound a tablet. Veterinarians do not recommend to use corticosteroids for processing of wounds not to increase the term of their healing. For setting of ears horns which do are in certain cases used, pasting over each ear of a dog on a spiral with an adhesive plaster and fixing them among themselves. The dog has to carry such "horns" not less than 2 weeks. If ears are at first showered forward or back, do not worry, after a while the muscles supporting them will get stronger and ears will rise directly.
