The state of health of rabbits in many respects is defined by in what conditions they contain. Besides creation of optimum humidity, good illumination and ventilation of the room, an important role in avoiding of many diseases is played by timely sanitation of cages and stock.
Instruction
1. The floor lattice should be cleaned by means of a metal scraper. Under a cage the low capacity (for convenience it can be installed on the cart), in which the food remains, a laying are raked up is put. Further it is necessary to raise or to completely remove a lattice from a cage and to remove from there manure. That rabbits did not disturb during cleaning, they can be overtaken in the next office of a cage then it is necessary to close a manhole a plywood latch. Thus all cages are cleaned, and the rabbit-hutch floor is finally swept.
2. Process of cleaning will accelerate if under a floor lattice to install pallets from plywood or tin. On them manure will be to fail between lattice laths. If the pallet is made of a tree, its bottom should be covered with a polyethylene film which will protect boards from swelling, and plywood from stratification.
3. Originally it is necessary to clean a cage lattice, and then – to put forward a pallet and to shake out from it the accumulated manure in any capacity. It is possible to do it and via the special hatch in a rabbit-hutch wall from where waste will directly get to the compost pit which is specially arranged outside of the shed.
4. Few times in a year, especially in autumn and spring time not to do without disinfection of cages. This procedure can be carried out in different ways. The simplest and effective of them is processing of the rabbit-hutch fire. For this purpose the gas burner or the blowtorch which process the cleaned wooden parts of a cage before easy browning will approach. During this procedure it is important to be careful that there was no fire.
5. It is possible to disinfect the rabbit-hutch and by means of chemicals. In case of use of chloric lime, 10% solution which by means of a wide brush processes cages, stock and walls of the rabbit-hutch undertakes.
6. Perfectly kills microbes cindery lye. For preparation of solution wood ashes are added to the boiling water (at the rate of 1/3 part of volume of water). Mix is boiled about half an hour then it is filtered and again it is carried to boiling. Further at once hot solution it is necessary to start processing of cages.
7. What way of disinfection would not be applied, external parts of cages are periodically recommended to be covered with the solution containing extinguished lime. It is useful to process wooden feeding troughs blowtorch fire, and it is better to subject components of ceramic, glass, metal automatic feeders and autodrinking bowls to boiling.
