But to support this animal, it is necessary to provide it a number of certain conditions.
Keeping of a lizard in house conditions
Before you decide to get a lizard, it is necessary to establish for her a terrarium. This animal surely has to have the place at you in the house, otherwise it can ache, be injured or will just run away. You can choose for the alumna a terrarium practically of any form, however its height has to be twice longer than a body of a lizard.
The bottom needs to be covered with the earth. It has to be without different additives or fertilizers. Instead of the earth you can apply sand or coconut flakes. Also pieces of paper or shaving will be suitable for rodents. As option, it is possible to cover a terrarium bottom large pieces of bark. In the native habitat the lizard loves different trees therefore it is possible to put several branches in housing of an animal.
The maintenance of the house of lizards assumes constant existence in a terrarium of two temperature zones. Cold about 30 degrees have to be heated-up, and hot - to 36. Temperature should not be lower than 21 degrees at night. It is possible to warm up a hot zone by means of a glass-ceramic/infrared lamp or the glow lamp. The special rug which you can buy in pet-shop will provide heating of the soil. Domestic lizards need constant bright lighting. Therefore establish for it an ultra-violet lamp. If you want to get at the same time several pets, it is necessary to take care of that in a terrarium was several warmed sites. For keeping of lizards in house conditions the humidity not less than 50-70% is considered optimum. It is possible to create it in several ways. In a cool zone of a terrarium put a bowl with water. The size of such bowl needs to be chosen taking into account the size of the alumna: the lizard has to get into her without effort. It is possible to achieve necessary humidity and by means of application of damp sponges or spraying. Do not forget to check periodically quality of ventilation in a terrarium as at high humidity pathogenic fungi are capable to be formed.
What to feed lizards in house conditions with?
During the summer period it is possible to feed a lizard 3 times a day. In the winter her will be rather two times food. Offer the favourite different insects - for example, crickets, spiders, flour hearts. Besides, the lizard will not refuse consumption of small mammals or bird's eggs. You can prepare in house conditions the following mix for this purpose of an animal: mix the crushed meat and small polished carrots in equal proportions, then add the cut lettuce leaves, and from above strew with a small amount of vitamin and mineral additive. Pay attention to that the last had no pungent smell capable to frighten off a lizard. It is necessary to feed this animal in the period of his activity. If you have several pets, they need to give food separately. By all means track that your favourite ate the portion. When the lizard is active, well drinks water, however at the same time eats a little, there is no reason for nervousness. Young growth it is necessary to feed by means of tweezers, and adult individuals can independently eat from a small bowl. After feeding of lizards wash hands with soap surely thoroughly.
