The breed with original appearance was taken out from China where it was considered as security and combative. A Shar-Pei – ancient breed, but for some time it was "forgotten", and quite recently it became rather popular among fans of dogs again.
Appearance
Shar-Peis are dogs of the average size, in withers reach about a half a meter, and is powerful they 18-25 kg. A constitution of these dogs brawny, strong, with the big shoulders and a breast which are a little reminding a square. The head of a Shar-Pei large and highly lifted. With foreign people the Shar-Pei will behave carefully and haughty, looking down on them. From them will accept caress as the king as if and has to be. Though this breed and fighting, but in family it is playful, kind and inventive in the relations. These dogs are easily trained and quickly remember that can be done in the house and that – it is impossible.
Leaving and keeping of a Shar-Pei
Care for this breed of dog is simple. It is necessary to wash Shar-Peis not often because they do not love water. The thicket should comb out wool to take away the died-off hairs. The dog cannot wash the head. If water gets into ears, inflammation will begin. Ears of Shar-Peis gentle, with thin ear canals. It is necessary to clean them once a week, carefully checking existence of a raid or unpleasant smell. When bathing a dog she needs to wash out carefully folds from shampoo that skin inflammations did not develop. It is necessary to dry after bathing of a Shar-Pei, applying at the same time powder or talc between folds for prevention of skin diseases. Walks with this breed of dog have to be long and physically active. The more the dog will run about on the street, the more quietly it will be at home. Shar-Peis do not transfer a heat therefore in the afternoon with them it is not necessary to walk. It is better to postpone walks to more cool time of day.
