1. A blue whale - the biggest animal ever existing on the planet Earth. Its length is about 30 m, and weight often exceeds 150 t. Blue whales are widespread practically on all World Ocean. They are under protection because their number is very small - only about 10 thousand individuals. These unfavourable data are explained by intensive hunting for whales, from one ink it is possible to receive huge amount of meat and fat. Also extinction of whales is promoted by their slow natural increase.
2. Savanna, or African, the elephant is the largest animal living on the land. Height of males can reach 3 m, trunk length - 7 m, and weight - 6 t. The trunk of the African elephants has the extent about 1.5 meters and impressive weight (about 135 kg). It is much less female of an elephant. Savanna elephants mainly live in Africa. They are very clever animals. In the ancient time people used elephants as the vehicle, elephant force very much was useful for economic needs. Today elephants help people with holding tourist excursions, sports hunting. Life expectancy of animals rather big – 65-70 years, from them 10-12 years is the share of children's age. People for centuries exterminated elephants for the sake of their meat, a skin, tusks. In 80 g of the last century the African elephants were on the verge of extinction, but the mankind thought again. 3. The giraffe is the highest animal from all nowadays existing. Adult males reach 6 m in height, and a third of growth is occupied by a long neck. Mass of a giraffe about 1 t. Length of a step is 6-8 m. Besides really enormous sizes of a body, the giraffe is an owner and the biggest cardiac muscle. Weight is it more than 10 kg. It is explained by the fact that it should pump blood on height about 3 meters up. Giraffes live in the African savannas. They concern herbivores, and the long neck helps them to get easily vegetable food from trees.
4. The Australian sea crocodile is the biggest reptile in the world. The male can reach the 7th meter length, and weight to be 2 t. Such crocodiles usually live in swamps, lagoons and deltas, but also they can come out of the water on distances about 100 km from the coast. A sea crocodile - very aggressive predator. The main diet it is made by monkeys, a kangaroo, wild bears. Annually several cases of attacks on the person are registered.
