Instruction

1. Selection work on Shar-Peis, most likely, began more than 3 thousand years ago that is confirmed by genetic analyses. They were brought in China, and are relatives of a chow-chow and ancient mastiffs. Judging by anatomic features of a constitution: to the powerful case and well developed jaws, short wool and a folded skin which can be bitten through but not to wound a body, Shar-Peis initially intended for fights. But gradually from combative breed of dog they were transformed to hunters and watchmen where their natural qualities also became very demanded. These strong and clever dogs who are not able to bark can quite cope with a large catch and protect master's property from malefactors.

2. Most likely, Shar-Peis quite understand the uniqueness and exclusiveness as even in the standard of breed it is noted that a look at them regal, gloomy and haughty. The muzzle, thanks to skin folds, is similar to the face of the old person. A volume thorax, powerful forepaws are slightly placed, back – direct and thick, with well developed muscles. The direct back without deflections comes to an end with a firm and thin tail, it is put highly and wrapped in a loop. If to touch plush hair of a Shar-Pei, it quite rigid and even slightly prickly.

3. As for character of this dog, it corresponds a little to that menacing and gloomy look which distinguishes a Shar-Pei. Actually, Shar-Peis are very friendly, though are wary of strangers. This is more likely a dog partner, than the security guard. The Shar-Pei constrained in communication always keeps with the dignity of the true aristocrat, he is laconic and does not bark, and purrs more likely. It is difficult to imagine a situation when this dog flies into a rage or will rush on the person though with tribespeople he enough provocatively behaves, and he is never confused by a difference in sizes. He will not look for close contact with the owner, but will always be nearby.

4. Shar-Peis are rather independent in behavior and are able to make independent decisions, but it does not mean that they are uncontrollable. All its excellent qualities put when forming breed should be developed. It perfectly gives in to training and with pleasure executes commands, perceiving them not as compulsion, and as an occasion to show the mutual understanding with the owner. This dog perfectly feels in the conditions of the city apartment and the private house, likes to spend time on the street, but appreciates also homeliness.
