"Whiskas" – one of the most widespread, the advertized and cheap cat food. Despite popularity, it is not the best food for your pet – it does not contain all elements necessary to an animal, it is made from production wastes or stale meat, it can cause urolithic and other diseases.
Structure of "Whiskas"
Cats need a large amount of proteins, fats and carbohydrates have to be present at their diet too, but much less. For them it is not less, than for the person, certain mineral substances and vitamins are important. To imitate wild food of these animals which gives them all necessary it is necessary to give them the crude exposed to frost beef meat, boiled low-fat chicken, green vegetables, fermented milk products. But not all owners of cats are ready to conform to the strict rules of natural food therefore they prefer to buy a forage. The structure of a forage is better, the better and natural ingredients are included into it, the more expensively, but a quality product.
On packing of a forage "Whiskas" is specified structure which horrifies good veterinarians. First, "offal of animal origin" it not meat: it is fat, bones, joints, the heads, beaks and many other things, seasoned with fragrances for which cats so love this forage. As a result in "Whiskas" a large amount of fats, but are not enough protein. And animal protein is often replaced with vegetable: it is possible to find soy, corn ears, a peanut shell in structure. Secondly, it contains corn gluten which is harmful to digestion of animals and causes problems with digestive tract. Thirdly, preservatives and fragrances which at the long use are toxic are a part of "Whiskas".
But once producers pay a stern tribute: they included some vitamins and taurine, important for cats, in structure though it is cheap ingredients.
Harm of "Whiskas"
Perhaps, "Whiskas" has the right for existence if more carefully to monitor its production. But it is important to understand that among many other forages there is one of the unhealthiest, unbalanced and cheap. In such cases the low cost eloquently speaks about quality as good fresh meat costs much. Cats are different: at some digestive systems perfectly copes with low-quality sterns and the improper natural feeding, others need to be fed strictly by rules and to watch closely their diet. The set of cases when owners of pets feed them with "Whiskas" throughout all life is explained by it, and cats live long, are not ill and perfectly feel. "Whiskas" not the poison, some pets really well transfer it, and, receiving still fertilizing from a table or independently getting itself food, they fill the shortage of certain substances. But this forage for an animal with gentle digestive system it can become dangerous. The fact that cats quickly get used to the "Whiskas" saturated with flavoring additives and demand only it aggravates a situation. It is difficult to save the pet from this habit.
