The Internet is bottomless a well of useful information or a global recycle bin? From what party to look. Fortunately, there are ways to avoid an unexpected meeting with a dark side of worldwide network. For example, in the Mozilla Firefox browser for this purpose there is an addition of Blocksite.
It is required to you
- - Mozilla Firefox browser;
- - addition of Blocksite.
Instruction
1. Start the Mozilla Firefox browser and open a window of additions. It is possible to make it three in different ways. The first – click a menu item "Tools", and then "Additions".
2. If the main menu is absent, use the second method: press the orange button with the inscription Firefox which is in the program upper left corner, and select the Additions item. And the third – click the Ctrl+Shift+A hot keys. The Management of Additions window will appear.
3. In the search string which is in the window upper right corner enter ""blocksite"". Among results of the search engine find a line with Blocksite (near the name there will be a number designating the current version of addition) and press the Install button. After completion of loading click on "Restart now". The browser will be restarted, and then the window of management of additions will open again.
4. Select Blocksite and click "Settings". In the top of the appeared window there are five points. The first three: Enable Blocksite which is responsible for inclusion/switching off of addition, Enable warning messages – for demonstration of warning messages in attempt to visit the prohibited website, Enable link removal – for cutting direct references. It will be told about purpose of the Blacklist and Whitelist points a bit later.
5. To add the website to the list, click Add, enter the name of the domain and click OK. For a call of an edit window of the name of the domain click Edit, and having finished – OK.
6. To delete the website from the list, select it and click Remove (the DELETE key in this case does not work on the keyboard).
7. Now about purpose of the Blacklist and Whitelist points. Let's say you already added several domains to the list. If you activate Blacklist, then the websites which are in the list will be blocked. If Whitelist, then all websites which are not in the list. When switching these points the list remains invariable, i.e. you will not be able separately to create Whitelist and separately of Blacklist, and then to switch between them. Perhaps, this only inconvenience in work with this addition.
8. Besides, you can set the password on an entrance to settings of addition Blocksite. For this purpose check near Enable Authentication and enter the password in the New password field.
