For protection of the personal computer against viruses it is necessary to use the whole package of measures. If you are not sure of reliability of certain utilities, then it is better to stop their attempts of establishing connection to the Internet.
It is required to you
- - Windows firewall;
- - Outpost Firewall.
Instruction
1. Use means of the Windows operating system for closing of Internet access of a certain utility. Open the control panel of the computer, having selected the necessary item in the Start menu. Open the System and Safety submenu. Find the Windows Firewall point and pass to it.
2. Select the Additional Parameters tab. Open the Rules for Outgoing Connection point. In the Actions menu select the Create the Rule item. In the appeared Rule Type window select the For the Program point and press Next.
3. In the following menu activate the Program Path point and press the Browse button. Select the EXE file corresponding to the necessary program. Press Next. After opening of the following window select the Block Connection parameter. Two times press Next.
4. Enter the name of the new rule, having filled the Name field. Click "Is ready". For prevention of blocking of connection click with the right mouse button the necessary point and select "Disconnect the rule".
5. If you want to provide additional protection of a system, install the Outpost Firewall program. During the first start of the utility select the Training Mode item.
6. Reboot. Make sure that the Outpost Firewall utility is started automatically after login. Open the program which Internet connection needs to be prevented. After emergence of an eye of the Outpost program select the Block item. Select a checkbox near the Remember Action for This Program parameter. Click Ok.
