For fine tuning of ADSL modems their configuration menu is used. Practically any model of the modem can be configured through this menu since access is provided through the unique command. For a call of the menu it is absolutely optional to have connection with the Internet.

Instruction
1. In modems of Huawei, as well as in others, the login to the menu is carried out via the web browser of any version. For this purpose it is necessary to enter value 192.168.1.1 in an address bar and to click the ENTER key. In the opened window there will be two empty fields - "login" and "password" into which it is necessary to enter admin and to click "OK" (observe the register, began with a lowercase letter). Before a login to the configuration menu it is desirable to disconnect a telephone cable from the modem, do not touch an Ethernet-cable (connects the modem to the net board).
2. You will see information window from which it is possible to learn the main characteristics of a marshrutirizator or the router (so often call modems). To go to settings it is enough to click the section Basic in the left part of a window. Under the name of the section there will be some points from which you need the WAN Setting element now.
3. In the right part of a window it is necessary to otredatirovat some values for "bridge" connection: Active point = yes, Mode = Bridge, Multiplex = LLC. For the organization of connection of the modem as the router it is necessary to expose the following settings: Active = yes, Mode = Routing, Encapsulation = PPPoE, Service Name = (a name of the company provider or the used Internet service).
4. All changes are saved clicking of the Submit button. After each change it is also desirable to perezagrukhat the modem — it can be done by means of the button on the modem though it is possible to reboot and programmatically. For this purpose pass to the section Tools and select the Reboot item, approximately in 1.5-2 minutes you will see again with which you worked.
5. After completion of work with the configuration menu of the modem do not forget to attach a telephone cable to the modem, and to reboot since changes in network settings were made.
