During synchronous use of several network adapters on one computer can arise certain problems with Internet access or a local area network. Most often similar malfunctions are caused by incorrect setup of a metrics.

Instruction
1. If at connection of a cable to the second network interface card on this computer it is disconnected with the Internet, change a priority of adapters. In Windows Seven open the control panel, having selected the required reference in the Start menu.
2. Find the Network and Sharing Center submenu and open it. Now open the link "Change of Parameters of the Adapter" located in the left column.
3. If you use Windows XP, then for access to the specified menu select the Network Connections item, having clicked previously "Start-up". Find an icon of the network adapter through which your computer gets Internet access.
4. Click it with the right mouse button and open properties of this network interface card. Find the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) point in the opened menu and open its parameters. In Windows Seven it is necessary to select TCP/IPv4 protocol.
5. After discovery of parameters of the network adapter click "In addition". Deselect a checkbox from the Automatic Purpose of a Metrics point. Set manually value 1. Several times click Ok for use of parameters.
6. Do this procedure for other network interface card. Naturally, in the field "Value of a Metrics" deliver digit 2.
7. Also it is possible to replace a metrics via the console of management Windows. Open the Start menu and pass into the Programs point. Find the Programs submenu and click the Command line point.
8. Enter the route print command and click the ENTER key. Find out the main gateway and the interface number for both network interface cards. Enter the route command - p add 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0,192.168.0.1 metric 1 if 10. Click the ENTER key. In this example number 10 means the interface number of the first adapter.
9. The same way change a metrics of other network interface card, having replaced the line metric 1 with metric 2. Naturally, the gateway address also should be changed.
