Usually servers of a proxy are created for gaining access to separate resources, using the imaginary IP address. Not everyone knows that the normal desktop computer and even the laptop can perform the proxu functions of the server.

- - network hub;
- - network cables.
Instruction
1. If you had a need to connect several home computers to the Internet, then there are two candidate solutions of this task. You can sign several contracts with provider or create own local area network. A practice shows that the second method requires smaller financial expenses. Buy the network hub (switch) and the network interface card. If you plan to use the mobile computer as the proxy server, then you need the USB-LAN adapter.
2. Select the PC which will perform functions of the proxy server. Connect to it the acquired network interface card (adapter). Now by means of the twisted pair cable connect the network hub to this card. The same way execute connection of this device with other computers and laptops.
3. Turn on all above-stated devices. Pay attention to that fact that the hub should be connected to the power supply network. Open the list of active network connections on the computer which needs to be configured as the proxy server. Click with the right mouse button an icon of connection with the hub. Select the Properties item and pass into the menu of settings of the TCP/IP protocol.
4. Activate the Use the Following IP Address point and enter its value. It is better to use IP 192.168.0.1 if he does not clash with other devices. Other fields of this menu can be not filled. Pass to properties of connection to the Internet. Open the Access tab and find point which is responsible for permission of use of this connection by other users. Install a tick near this point and save changes.
5. Open settings of the TCP/IP protocol on other PCs. Fill the Main Gateway and The Preferred DNS Server fields, having registered in them the proxy-server IP address (first computer). Set the static IP addresses for all your computers. Your network with proxy the server is ready.
